Due to the extreme flooding in many parts of Iowa, Homesteaders has implemented emergency relief measures for policy owners in these affected counties: Adair, Audubon, Appanoose, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buena Vista, Butler, Carroll, Cass, Cerro Gordo, Cherokee, Chickasaw, Clay, Clayton, Crawford, Dallas, Davis, Delaware, Dickinson, Emmet, Fayette, Franklin, Fremont, Guthrie, Hamilton, Hancock, Hardin, Harrison, Howard, Humboldt, Ida, Iowa, Kossuth, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marshall, Mitchell, Monroe, Mills, Monona, Montgomery, O’Brien, Page, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Pottawattamie, Shelby, Sioux, Tama, Union, Webster, Winnebago, Winneshiek, Woodbury, Worth and Wright. We hope this effort will ease some of the burden associated with these weather conditions.

Effective until June 15, 2019, Homesteaders is extending the normal 30-day premium grace period contained in our policies as follows: Any Homesteaders policy insuring an Iowa resident in one of the counties listed above that might otherwise lapse during this period due to non-payment of premium will remain in full force and effect. In addition, Homesteaders is extending special consideration for other processes that impose a time limit for an affected insured or claimant to perform any act, including the submission of claim or other requirements.
