Who I am

Burnette Family PortraitI graduated from the University of Florida with a major in business. I started my career in banking and got into insurance and the funeral business when I moved from Florida to Atlanta, GA, in 1983. From there, I went to work for another pre-need funding company. I have been associated with the funeral business ever since, working for casket companies and in a funeral home. I have worked in several aspects of the funeral profession including showroom merchandising, cemetery sales, pet memorials, funeral service marketing and pre-need. My wife, Joy, and I have been married for 25 years, and we have one son, Tyler.

Why I joined Homesteaders

Homesteaders Home OfficeI was a customer of Homesteaders before I joined the team and was always impressed by the quality of the people and the service they provided. Working with Homesteaders gives me the opportunity to work with many more funeral homes.

What I do

I provide support and marketing solutions to funeral home professionals in Georgia. I can help my customers with their pre-need sales because I’ve actually sold pre-need in funeral homes. Pre-need helps my customers solidify the business they already have while securing their long-term financial success.

Homesteaders provides the best overall funding options for funeral homes to serve their families, and their excellent marketing programs and customer service are second to none. Homesteaders’ tools and training make it easy to listen to my customers’ needs and work to provide a custom solution for each funeral home.
