Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home
Despite the efforts of owner Terry Pendley, three years ago there was no preneed program in force at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta, GA. Pendley had tried working with several different preneed providers but could not find a successful fit for his family-owned firm.
Independent Funeral Planning Alliance’s (IFPA) Matt Kreidenweis partnered with Homesteaders to build a preneed program that could secure long-term success for Pendley and his sons. “The atmosphere that they had when we showed up is what you hope to work with,” Kreidenweis observed. “Everybody understood the importance of a good preneed program, it just didn’t exist for them at that time.”
“The ideas and programs they generated have put our program well above what we ever expected,” Pendley reflected. “We tried IFPA and Homesteaders to see if they would stand behind what they said they would do, and they have done that and more.”
Pendley feels secure in the relationships they’ve built over the last three years and confident that his sons will inherit a successful business. “The families that prearrange with us are going to use our funeral home in the future. It will increase business later on down the road, particularly for my sons who will be doing this when I’m gone,” he explained. “I know they will be okay.”
“Now we have a preneed program in force that is as strong as anyone could hope for,” Pendley described. “It has continued to grow each year.”
