This has been a year of many “firsts” – of adapting to challenges and coming together (even if we can’t be together physically) to find new ways of doing things that will help us move forward. This year’s NFDA International Convention & Expo (October 20-22) is no exception, as the National Funeral Directors Association makes plans to hold this highly anticipated event in a virtual format for the first time ever.
While we’ll miss seeing everyone in person, there are many reasons to be confident the convention will bring a lot of value for attendees – and perhaps even present information and networking opportunities that wouldn’t have been possible before. With that in mind, here are a few highlights to look forward to at this year’s convention.
1. Convention with Convenience
This year, it’s easier than ever to participate in the learning and sharing that happens during the NFDA convention. While we're looking forward to being able to return to in-person conventions, the convenience of this year’s event will remove some of the travel and scheduling conflicts that funeral professionals face.
In addition, this year’s registration fees make it more affordable to attend. Don’t forget to sign up on or before October 19 to take advantage of a $50 discount on registration.
2. Game-Changing Keynote
As the Double Black Diamond sponsor for the convention, Homesteaders is proud to help NFDA present bestselling author Simon Sinek as a keynote speaker. Sinek will help kick off the first day of the convention by sharing insights from his latest book, The Infinite Game. His writings have many valuable takeaways for funeral professionals, and this book is no exception. By attending, you’ll learn how to shift your focus from arbitrary short-term goals and set your business on a path to long-term success.
3. Find Out What’s New
We’re getting ready to share some big news about solutions for funeral professionals, and one of the best ways to get the details is to visit us at the NFDA Virtual Expo Hall. You’ll be able to chat with our team, schedule in-depth demos and more.
4. Learn and Connect
As always, the convention schedule will be packed with speakers sharing insights on many different topics related to professional skills, business operations, technology and more. Sessions are still being announced (including a special roundtable with some familiar faces), and you won’t want to miss these opportunities to hear from some of the most innovative funeral service leaders over the course of the three-day event.
You can also look forward to many of the meaningful moments that make the NFDA convention such a special experience, such as the Service of Remembrance and time set aside for networking and socializing with other funeral service professionals from around the world.
